[ He disagrees. But maybe it's because religion just isn't a huge part of his life or culture. Maybe it's because he's distrusting and wary and sees no legitimate reason to trust this man. He thinks maybe people who have faith that strongly, they have to be naive. Or maybe desperate. Louis takes a seat, folding his right leg over the other and nodding towards a nearby chair in the small, private room. He's signaling that he can take a seat, if he should want. The movement is intentional, slow, and careful. It's how he does everything. ]
I don't know that I'd bank on people's faith for them to not be disruptive. I'm sure there's plenty here, like myself, that won't necessarily be stopped by being damned.
[ He glances around, then his eyes fall firmly back on the other. ]
Everything I am is here and now, that's how I have always had to live. And many of us here are like that.
Did you know there's no consequences for what you do here at home? [ This probably isn't exactly the thing he should be saying to someone, but here he is. ] I refuse to leave a place without having made a mark. Changed the way things are.
So even if I think it's irresponsible to assume that people will respect four walls for something they have no faith in, I have to respect a desire to leave something behind here.
In a way, I accept that... in many other ways, I don't.
[ Archangel responds cryptically about how he knows that there are no consequences for what he does here with his own world. Because he wants to believe that he can change the ending of his story and the ruined state of his world. ]
I appreciate you respecting at least ... the end goal of what I'm trying to do. [ He closes his eyes as it seems like the two of them are working for the same end. ] Both of us wish to make a place where the people will feel safe and protected.
I will do what I can to look after the spirits and minds... I will do what I can to make the people more proactive about changing the society that they live within... because without those things... they will continue to live in ruin even after we leave. [ Even after he returns to his eternal torment. ]
And what of you? What is it that you hope to leave behind?
Well - [ He pauses, immediately, to consider how to word his answer. ] While you are caring for their spirits and minds, I'm very different. There's issues in the Black Market with trafficking of Prismals and other creatures, and what could only be described as a slave trade.
[ There's a confidence when he speaks. ]
My goal is to take that away from them. I don't care about the harmless legalities of things like fraudulent Demi Chroma and things like that. That is a failure in the system here and I am not going to fix that.
I care to fix the things that are legitimately hurting the population, and that could easily spread to Moonblessed.
[ Free will was a mistake. He shares, at least, Louis's disgust with what is going on, but his methods are more manipulative than violent. Sticks and stones may break a person's bones, but tearing into their mind will leave everlasting damage. ]
It seems, then, our goals are not too dissimilar and only our methods are different.
[ Archangel smiles, warmly, before it fades away. ]
To that end... I'll offer what help I can, and expect help in return should it come to it.
[ He watches him, the way his expression shifts. Louis takes it in, he's careful and observant. As long as they don't interfere with each other's business, then things will be okay. Louis isn't known for his patience and grace, though. And the second he thinks his methods are being bothered or disrupted. ]
Of course.
[ Within reason, of course, goes unsaid. ]
If necessary, I can help. Should hope it doesn't come to that, though. I might not mean good things for this city.
We wouldn't be doing what we're doing if we meant good.
[ Archangel responds with a laugh before he pushes himself up to stand. ]
What we mean to do is just. These things are different. [ Their actions are justified. Their reasons make sense to them. This did not necessarily make them "good," but they were something that needed to be done. For the betterment of all, is that good? Well, it means destroying everything to get there ... the narrative will one day change to say that they were "good" all along, so. ]
Anyway, don't worry too much about it. Just do as you will and the rest will happen as it will.
[ One must always work and put sincere effort into the betterment of the world around them. There's never been a moment without effort in his life. Louis hasn't ever had the chance to live freely and easily.
But, he prefers it that way. He prefers to have to earn it. His hard work has leveled the playing field between himself with natural skills and abilities.

I imagine you can see yourself out, then?
